Virgie Bolin....MOM

I'm remembering back to May 2008 Betty and I had went down to Karen's on A Thursday so we could take her to have A test ran on Friday and we were going to go to come back home on Saturday, well it was "DERBY" week-end and that is A BIG DEAL in Kentucky and Indiana ( I think it is A BIG DEAL around the world  also ) I guess we had forgotten about how much traffic would be out there on the Highways,we were watching the news and they told about A few wrecks that had already happened that morning then Betty's husband (Mike) called and he told Betty for us not to try to come home that there were to many wrecks happing every where sooooooooooo we were glad that we didn't have to go home for we had been watching the Horse Races at Church Hill Downs and we would pick A Horse ( we weren't betting money on them ) to see who could pick the winning Horse. Karen was sleeping A lot for she had been sick for quite some time BUT we would wake her up to pick A horse, she would look at the horses names and number and tell Robbie ( her brother my son )who had our names down and when we picked A Horse by name and number he wrote it down beside our name  well since Karen was dozing off and on she would ALWAYS pick A Horse that Robbie,Betty,Pam or myself had already picked and we weren't allowed to pick each others Horse ( Robbie's Rules ) we would say you can't pick that horse for it belongs to either Robbie,Betty,Pam or Mom so then she would pick another horse another number we laughed so hard at her for she would say "Why can't I pick that number or horse" we would say "Because it belongs to so or so" She just didn't understand why she couldn't pick the horses we had already picked AND quite A few times Karen ended up having the WINNING HORSE!!!! We watched every race down to the last one.....then we found another "TV" station where it had Horse Racing on it so we picked horses on there too,Karen had to give up and go to bed BLESS her HEART but the rest of us stayed up until 1 o/clock in the morning watching and picking horses. We had the best time we laughed until we were crying,we were screaming for OUR horses to come in,we was up on our feet yelling "Come on such & such Horse or number,Karen would say in her tiny weak voice Come on such or such Horse, she was having fun even if she was feeling so bad and was dozing off and on. The last time Betty and I were down at her house  ( Feb 12-14-09 ) Karen told us you have to come back for "DEBRY DAY" and we promised we would be back.................BUT that didn't happen for Feb.14,09 was the last time we saw Karen alive GOD had other plans for Karen HE CALLED HER HOME TO BE WITH HIM ON MARCH 2,2009, the next time we saw OUR Beloved Daughter,Sister was at the Grayson's Funeral Home here in Charlestown,Indiana on MARCH 8,2009..............We Might of missed the race BUT KAREN WAS THE WINNINER FOR SHE WENT TO BE WITH OUR LORD,She is now resting Peacefuly!! OH GOD WE MISS HER SO MUCH BUT WE HAVE SO MANY WONDERFUL MEMORIES OF HER THAT WE CARRY WITH US EACH AND EVERY DAY. REST IN PEACE ANGEL GIRL SEE YOU WHEN WE GET TO HEAVEN!!!

When Tomi Lee was first born and was only about 2 or 3 weeks old, Karen came to the house to see her. Karen was holding her and loving on her and Tomi Lee pooped all over Karen's new shirt. We all laughd until we cried. You have to remember that was 28 years ago and diapers didn't have the elastic legs. At the time Karen was the only one who didn't laugh but as time went by she agreed it was funny. Since we were double first cousins we have a lot of special memories and I will cherish them all. I didn't get to see very much of Karen in the last couple of years but I loved her very much, and will miss her smile and her laughter.

This is the last memory that Karen,Betty,Robbie and I made together, Betty and I went to Karen's on Feb.12 for Tommy had gotten tickets for us to go see "George Jones"  in concert on Feb.13. We just sit around and talked that first night then the next morning Friday we all played games on Karen's "TV",then Karen went to highlite her hair ( her hair was dyed A sort of brown color)Well she got this cap on then she came and ask Betty to pull  some of the hair through these holes in the cap,Betty tried but she wasn't able to do it so Robbie told her just to take the cap off and put the dye on that way,so she did and when she had done all she was suppost to do and washed it out she came in to the living room crying her HAIR was completly PINK and As PINK as PINK can get,Betty,Robbie and myself started laughing then we got Karen to laughing,we all laughed until we had tears running down or cheeks. We were going shopping so Karen goes and gets this pink hat of hers and she stuffs her hair up under the cap and off we go,Frist we go to this clothing store so we could buy us A new top to wear to the concert next we go to Wal Mart so Karen can buy some more dye for her hair then we head back home,Karen dye's her hair again and it turned out A pretty brownishes color,so Karen,Betty and I got ready to go to the concert, frist Tommy takes us out to eat then we headed to Lexington,KY to the concert. The first one on stage was someone dressed like "Conway Twitty" and then this woman comes out ( she was Tommy's cousin ) dressed and looked like "Loretta Lynn" and this guy and this woman ( Emily Portman ) sung A few songs together as Conway and Loretta.........they were so good!! Before the concert Tommy bought us three Lady's George Jones T-Shirts we all chose the same shirt and they were the same color. We had A great time. On the way home we Talked and Laughed and just was having such A great Time......I wouldn't of missed this night for nothing in the world for on Feb.14 Betty and I had to leave to get back to our own homes BUT Karen told us we had to come back on "Derby" Day as we had spent Derby day with her the year before BUT Karen died on March 2 and on Feb.14 was the last time we saw her alive. I have so many memories of my daughter BUT I wanted to share this LAST MEMORY with everyone!!! I Miss You and I Love You Karen!!
